Circling the Drain

God, we live in the absolute most miserable fucking timeline, don’t we?

As I’ve said before (because atrocities keep happening, don’t they, and I keep having to reassure people), I don’t discuss the wider world here often, simply because I – -and I’m sure many of you — need at least one place online that isn’t saturated in the absolute fetidness of the world at large, but that doesn’t mean that I’m unaware, unconcerned, or looking away.

For those of you who are aligned with me in terms of my values and are likewise as privileged as me (I am exceedingly lucky and privileged in that I live in a blue state that has been very good about codifying and upholding rights for me and people like me, and I am financially secure enough to actually be able to throw money at personally meaningful causes) my current charitable donations have been to the ACLU in light of, hell, all of this; and the Kansas LGBTQ+ Fund, in light of the recent horrific disenfranchisement trans folks have been facing there. I encourage you to find similar charities you align with, or donate to these funds if you don’t know where else to give.
