Fandoms for Choice Zine (Spring 2023)
fandomforchoice.carrd.co

From the About Page: “Fandom for Choice is a cross-fandom zine dedicated to reproductive justice and abortion access. In the wake of the decision overturning Roe V. Wade, it’s more important than ever that we use every resource to help protect abortion access for the most vulnerable. This is one way fandom can give back. The zine itself will feature fan art and fan fiction from any and all fandoms, featuring the color purple (which is commonly associated with reproductive justice). The works can also incorporate the optional themes of bodily autonomy, reproductive freedom, and choices.”

Project Choice Zine (Spring 2023)
projectchoice.carrd.co

From the About Page: “On June 24, 2022, the United States Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, declaring that the constitutional right to abortion no longer exists. This ruling will also affect access to contraceptives, life-saving treatments, family planning services, and other protections—particularly for those living in poverty, who are BIPOC, and/or who are part of the LGBTQ+ community. Project Choice is not only a response to this attack on human rights but it is also a way to show our support for healthcare access & reproductive services. We will eventually vote on which nonprofit we will contribute to via the finalized zine launch.”

Off the Beaten Path: A Counterculture Exhibit (June 2024)
https://www.wsuvpagallery.com/exhibitions.html

Two of my illustrations, My Job as a Woman and Tangled were accepted into this show at The Mary Cosgrove Dolphin Gallery. As per the art call:

“Artists constantly challenge the definition and perception of Fine Art within our society. Working within the subversive genre of anti-art or modern day counterculture, artists write their own rules in an unapologetic way, rules that may or may not adhere to the standards set by centuries of Fine Art predecessors. Artwork that contains roots within underground culture, inspires a vast variety of topics and aesthetics that make it relatable for a large number of artists and admirers.”

My piece Coddled, was shown as part of Till Wave Gallery’s (Watertown, MA) exhibit Moments: Past, Present, and Future, and depicts the young child of the artist’s friend, cuddling a batch of recently hatched chicks.

My piece Don’t Fucking Touch Me was shown as part of WSU’s Unfiltered Femininity exhibit. “Unfiltered Femininity challenges artists and viewers to reflect on the idea of femininity through an unfiltered lens by shedding societal norms and pushing past current ideas of socially acceptable imagery. Instead of narrowing the scope of femininity in search of a definition, the works in the show seek to expand viewers’ understanding of femininity through each artist’s unique perspective and interpretation. This exhibition aims to capture a full spectrum of authentic expression.”
